About the Artist
A Return to Home
Jody Andersen was born and raised in Amity, Oregon. Growing up she loved to play in nature and was always curious about the natural world around her. Drawing became her favorite way to pass the time, spending hours in her room on pieces created from imagination and the books she loved to read. She eventually graduated from Oregon State University with a BFA in visual design.
Life took her in a different direction, and she worked in retail management for 20 years before realizing the hole she felt could only be filled by returning to creating. In 2021, she joined the Pacific Artists Co-op Gallery and in 2025, she had a one person show “A Beautiful Random Order”, at the Chessman Gallery at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.
When she is not in her studio creating works on canvas, she can be found with yarn and crochet hook in hand. Currently, she lives in Lincoln City, OR with her husband and two cats. Her day job is managing the office and yard at Morris Excavation.
